Who is chairing this research?

WOW. Really not much else to say to that one!
I overheard someone at SEM in Anaheim that they had a committee of more than 70 people. I forget their purpose, but were it not for higher education, the large size of such committees would not be possible. Only in higher ed is there availability of room spaces that could hold 70 people (and more). The corporate world is limited to the size of a boardroom whereas higher ed, the size of a classroom.
See…making classes smaller has student and institutional benefit! ;o)

When I was a Sports Information Director at Chicago State University, I was on a committee for the CoSIDA group (some acronym for SIDs). The name of this committee?
“Committee on Committees.”

Last year my boss told me I was going to be heading up an ad-hoc committee for faculty recognition policy.
I had no IDEA what that meant! I chaired it anyway!
Turns out this is what it was for: “Should we give a faculty member flowers when they have a baby, get married, or are sick? Maybe only after they’ve been here for 3 years and are considered long-term.” WHAAAA? Waste. Of. Time.
