I’ve been a loyal Fire Engine RED client since 2005, first on their broadcast email tool, then on chat and message boards, and finally on admissions applications.  I’m not easy to please when it comes to vendors, but couldn’t recommend them more highly.  Here’s my top 10 reasons why FER rocks my world:

  1. Shelly and Rene, the founders of the company, are the type of people that will schedule a conference call with you while they are mid-road trip and  have pulled off the highway to talk to you.


  2. Their broadcast email pricing model is pay as you go.  You will never pay for more emails than you use, and you will never experience ridiculous charges for going over your pre-allotted amount.


  3. One of their developers, Joe Genaro, is a rock star.  No, seriously!  He has his own Wikipedia entry and everything.


  4. When you send an email to their support address, it goes to everyone in the company and the problem is usually solved within minutes.


  5. They have their own theme song.


  6. Their admissions applications module is infinitely customizable, and one of the best I’ve seen out there in terms of creating a seamless user experience.


  7. They’ve grown entirely through word-of-mouth, proving that I’m not the only customer who loves them.


  8. They are constantly improving on their products, and take customer feedback seriously when doing updates.  If it doesn’t do what you want it to do now, just tell them about it and they’ll do their best to work with you.


  9. When you log into your account, you’re greeted with a festive quote.  The current one is “I started out with nothing. I still have most of it. – Michael Davis“


  10. They make it easy, from unlimited training to a very intuitive system. They value their customers and show it through their actions as well as their words.

Fire Engine RED is not paying me to write this post…in fact, they don’t even know I’m doing it.  I just think they’re awesome. Convince me that you’re awesome too, and I’ll do the same for you!
